About the Raleigh Durham Area

Public Schools and Education

Wake County has the largest public school district in North Carolina and the 19th largest in the nation. The yearly growth of the school district is projected to grow by over 20,000 students in the next 3 years. Each year new schools are being built as well as renovations to older schools to accommodate the growing population. Wake county offers a traditional calendar as well as a year school calendar. There are also numerous choices of magnet programs. I encourage you to visit the Wake county public school website for valuable information.

ENTERTAINMENT

The Raleigh area is home to many great universities which provides numerous opportunities for things to do. NC State, home of the Wolf pack, as well as nearby, UNC-Chapel Hill and Duke University provide a variety of sporting events as well as cultural events to attend. Raleigh is also home to the NHL Carolina Hurricanes, which play their home games at the RBC Center. The RBC Center also hosts many concerts and other kinds of entertainment. The NC State fairgrounds holds weekly flea and antique markets as well as many different expos and conventions. Of course you also cannot miss the annual state fair held each year at the fairgrounds.

Downtown Raleigh is filled with numerous dining choices, both upscale and casual, as well as museums, parks, bars and clubs, state legislature buildings, colleges, and numerous other activities that are planned throughout the years.

The VISIT RALEIGH WEBSITE is another great site to find things to do.
